Originally tasked with the judging of men upon their deaths, his soul was tainted by the curses of those who raged against the heavens, and seizing one of the gods’ servants, a shamaness, as a hostage, he rebelled against his creators. Even now, in defeat, he clutches the shamaness to him in his right arm, and with the aid of her death-wail does he summon the soul of darkness to do his bidding.”
「世界を暗黒の力でおおい尽くし、生けるものすべての魂を奪い去る異端の異形者。光の異形者、真理の天使エメトセルクとは対なる存在。元は人の死後を審判する判事として神に創られたが、天を呪う者たちに魂を侵されてしまい、神に仕える巫女を人質にとり反旗を翻した。神に敗れ封印された現在でも、その右腕には巫女の体が抱き抱えられており、彼女の断末魔と共に暗黒の魂を呼び起こす。」
英単語・英語表現の解説
・seraph: 熾天使（してんし）
天使にも階級があり、その最上位です。複数形は seraphim です。
天使の階級は celestial hierarchy といいます。
・condemnation: 罪の宣告、断罪
ディバイン・デス（Divine Death）の英訳（？）です。divine は「神聖な」という意味ですので、善悪二元論のキリスト教的概念を強く持つ英語では違和感があるのでしょうか？
日本の「神」は善悪関係なく「大いなる力」を持ちます。同じ神様でも「和魂」と「荒魂」といって２つのモードが存在します。自然の猛威と自然の恵み。どちらも自然の偉大さから生まれるものです。
外国人と話していると日本人の自然災害に対する受け止め方が「非常に冷静だ」と驚かれます。私は個人的な意見として「自然災害は人間の悪行に対する天罰ではなく、それも自然（神様）のスケールの大きさの一部だと日本人は受け止めているのでは？」と伝えることにしています。
・heretic: 異端者
異端者とは「正統とされる教えから逸脱した教義を信じる者」という意味です。外敵というよりは、キリスト教会内部の権力闘争の際に使われた言葉です。異端審問（Inquisition）という拷問による自白強要を前提とする裁判を通した思想統制も行われていました。
魔女狩り（witch hunt）も似たような発想で行われていましたが、拷問で自白させて処刑すればよいので、金持ちユダヤ人などから財産没収（借金帳消し）のために散々行われました。
・unto：～へ
古語の前置詞で「to 」とほぼ同じ意味です。
・scion of light：光の異形者
名詞 scion：名族の子孫
shamaness：巫女
shaman の女性形「-ess」がついた形。
wail：泣き叫ぶ、嘆き
ここでは death-wail は「断末魔の叫び」となっていますが、故人を悼んで泣くことも death wail というようです。
中国の文化では、故人を悼んであえてお葬式で大声を泣くところもあるそうです。

men は一般的に「人間」という意味です。
・seizing：とらえて
現在分詞 seizing をつかった分詞構文。
・one of the gods’ servants, a shamaness: 神々に仕える者たちの一人である巫女
gods’ servant が「god’s 神の」ではなく「gods’ 神々の」であることに注意。
所有格の「’s」は単数用法であり、複数の場合は「~s’」になります。
a shamaness は同じ内容の名詞を並べて追加説明になります（同格 apposition）
